Vacation Rental Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose and Scope

These general terms and conditions govern the vacation rental of accommodations operated by Hostel Toucan located in French Guiana, Martinique and Guadeloupe. They apply to any booking made directly with the Hostel or through its distribution partners.

2. Definitions

Client: the natural or legal person who makes the booking and/or stays in the Accommodation. Stay: the rental period agreed upon in the Booking Confirmation. Booking Confirmation: a document or email summarizing the booking (dates, rates, number of occupants, deposit, etc.).

3. Booking – Deposit – Payment

The booking becomes final upon receipt of full payment or a deposit. Accepted payment methods include common bank cards, bank transfer, and cash within the local legal limit. Rates are quoted in euros and include the tourist tax.

4. Length of Stay – Check-in/Check-out

Check-in from 2:00 PM, check-out before 11:00 AM. Minimum length of stay: 1 night. Arrivals/departures outside these hours are subject to prior approval and additional fees.

5. Cancellation – No-show

Cancellation ≥15 days before arrival: 80% refund (20% retained). Cancellation <15 days or no-show: no refund. Non-refundable rates do not entitle the client to any refund except in cases of force majeure.

6. Security Deposit

A deposit of €100 to €1,500 may be required upon arrival. In the event of damage to the accommodation or consumption of minibar items, a deposit will be charged to cover repair or replacement costs. Refunded within 10 business days after departure, subject to a satisfactory inventory inspection.

7. Occupancy – Use – Rules

Residential use only. Smoking is prohibited, as are unauthorized parties/events without written agreement. Pets must be declared. The number of occupants may not exceed the maximum capacity.

8. Inventory Inspection – Damages

The Client is liable for any loss or damage caused to the Accommodation. Repairs may be deducted from the security deposit.

9. Safety – Maintenance

The Hostel may access the Accommodation with prior notice for maintenance or emergencies. Personal belongings remain in the Client's custody.

10. Amenities and Services

Linens and cleaning are included according to the specified terms. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge. Unsupervised parking spaces are used at the Client's own risk.
